Cassie started off the day at 100%

On her way to work she stopped to get some coffee. The woman at the drive through window was incredibly chatty. How's your day so far? Got any plans? What do you do for work? She tells Cassie all about her own morning, her dog, and something about school. Honestly, Cassie misses most of the conversation and her battery drains every moment the woman prattles on. Finally, she's hands over her coffee and the bright smile of the woman and her all too chipper voice almost do her in.

Cassie is now at 20%.

She pulls away from the window and takes a big gulp of coffee. The sweet and bitter liquid rushes through her veins and her spirit's lift. She turns the music up high and sings along loudly, taking the long way to work. The sun is rising above the mountains, and the blue of the sky becomes brighter. The parking lot is still mostly empty when she arrives. That is her favorite part about getting to work early.

She enters the building at 68%.

It's only been two hours, and she has already been forced to speak to about ten people, send five emails, and report to the conference room for a surprise meeting. She has her head down on her desk and ignores the ping of another incoming email. At lunch she spots an empty table and sighs with relief. She pops her headphones on and starts to watch a video while eating her salad. Her peace is short lived as a coworker plops down next to her and signals to take off her headphones. He starts asking her questions and trying to chat with her. She is too polite to tell him to go away. After lunch, the day stays the same and there is no escape from the interaction. Maybe it's time to start looking for a remote job?

She ends her workday at 12%.

Heading home she blasts loud angry music and bangs her head along to the beat. Rush hour traffic is in full effect on the highway, but she could care less. By the time she pulls into her driveway her voice is hoarse and her neck is a little sore, but she feels a little better. She is greeted by cat her when she enters the front door and she scoops him into her arms. His purrs are loud and he nuzzles his head into her chin. They make their way over to the couch and she reaches for the remote. When her husband arrives him, she's fast asleep on the couch, still curled up with the cat, and Grey's Anatomy blares in the background. He laughs and covers her up with a blanket and a soft kiss, heading to the kitchen to start dinner.

Smiling in her sleep, her battery now at 72%.
