NPC POV

“I am heading to work now.” I say to my partner as I grab my lunch pal and coffee.

“Where are you working today?” They ask.

“The lumber yard today, boss is building a new extension on his mansion and he has left us in charge of guarding it while he processes the wood.”

“Okay be safe! See you tonight.”

I get to work and we are all spread out on shift as we patrol certain areas. I have no idea why we are guarding this oak and we are heavily armed for some reason.

BAM! What was that I think as I turn to look around. One of the other guards just got buried by a bunch of lumber, that was hanging above him. And it looks like another person is down with an arrow in their chest. Someone is here and I need to find them.

There is a bunch of chests that are placed around everywhere. I think whoever is here is searching for those. There must be treasure inside of them. I wish I could just leave, I am terrified right now and I can’t leave this area.

“Hey!!” I yell, I see the person who is doing all this. They are decked out in gear and they have so much detail all over. They have a chiseled face and it has some dirt on it but it looks cool and man all of that equipment. I have to get them before they steal the loot.

Ohh no. Something hurts, as I look down. I see an arrow in my arm. Bam another just hit my foot. This is inescapable I think. This is it! I am not going home tonight or any night. I just wish I could tell my partner that I love them as I black out and fall over.
