Chapter 2

(Toris Viewpoint)

The dome exploded, that’s the last I saw of Cap’n before he went inside to get that Gladed information.

“Lena! How much longer do you think he’ll be?”

As she’s about to speak a rather heavyset big Glading monster slides up out of the water and wraps its big claws around the broken dome.

“Screws. Guess we‘ve got to Sal’s flaming butt again.” I mutter under my breath.

Lena readies herself. One good thing about having a magic user in the crew. They can launch you into places you’re not supposed to go.

She begins a weave and the planks of wood I’m standing on move under my feet, shifting into a springboard of sorts.

“Ready?” I yell over the monster’s screeches. Yes, screeches. Much worse than you think if you ever experience it in person.

And I launch into the air, half her, half me. I’ve got to make the jump. But she helps me propel myself.

I can make out another ship, a metal one, and I think I can see Sal on it, but I can’t be sure.

I begin think that I have the element of suprise. Yeah I was wrong. Sand flies to create a dust storm, building upon the monster. And which I now evidently find out is a Glader, but It attaches itself almost and creates a gaping Glader skull made out of sand.

“Glades, Warrens stepping up his game.” I scream. And I finally reach my point of destination, the skull’s mouth. I blast into it, it’s more tidy than you would expect for the inside of a sand monster.

So I blast through it and out the other side, of the actual monster, slowed down exponentially, but I land face first on the boat, with my leg snapping.

Panting I say, “ Hey Cap! Miss me?”

We clap hands and he helps me up.

“Never been happier to see you, with all your immortal idiocy.” He responds.

I crack my leg back into place and fix my wrist, which I didn’t know was broken.

A man in black golden robes gapes at me,”How many of your kind are there?”

“Lots, Mate.”

Sal gives me a dirty look, “How do expect to kill a Glader of this magnitude? I mean it’s huge, the ones I’ve killed are like the size of two yous.”

“Mate, do you even know me at all. All I know is Lena’s on it. So I can sense by the way that women is so rudely leering at you that something happened, hopefully that it’s good. Why don’t you show me?”

He grimaces and braces himself. He holds out his sigil and a sort of ethereal energy escapes from it. Some scales ripple slightly as he does, also emanating from the sigil, but that ethereal energy wraps him up and amplifies him.

In a way I couldn’t possibly explain.

It sends itself down to his legs and he soars, seems to be a common theme between us but this is vastly different. It travels up and onto his arms. He sticks them out and slams into that Glader with everything he’s got. And it staggers, literally staggers. He stares at me, and nods.

“Welp, I’d love to stay with you creeps but I’ve got a flight to catch.” I say to the islanders.

I step up onto the railing and step off. Suddenly Sal’s below me and that energy of his? It pushes me up. Up and straight through the head of the Glader. Not my ideal tactic, not one we’ve used before. But I can’t really complain, only once in a life time you get to kill a beast of this size.

Sal catches me with his energy once more and I roll to the deck and grab the rune robed man by the neck. All in one smooth take.

“Mate, hmmmm, the Chief I assume. Anyway I’ve had enough of your excuses, so tell the man what he wants to know, or I’ll do something to you that may change your mind.” I say, deathly smirk on my face.

“Ok, OK! The Spiral Voyage. It’s not a voyage of sorts. In actuality it’s a curse, all who try to travel on its deadly path, die. All mysteriously ending their lives to the place where this voyage gets its name. The Spiral. A bank of water, land, and demon all combined. Where the three realms meet. They swirl in on each other. And that’s where the “Spiral” part comes from.” He yells.

Sal doesn’t move. “Spiral…..Toris, leave the Chieg alone. We’ve done enough here. And Chief?”

The Chief looks up, confidence restored.

“If you ever cross me, I’ll show you what this power of mine can do.”

The Guardian pulls up. Docking on the shore. Lena swings down. “You get the information?”

“Both parts actually, although one part I figured out on my own. I think it’s time we steady the game.” Sal says.

“Don’t know what that means, but I’m not sure I need to. What’s the next step Sal?”

“I don’t know. But I have a feeling we might need to find Kappar soon. Cause if we don’t, the world might not be here for us to save.”

“Wow, that’s grim Cap.” I say.

He nods and climbs up into the ship, we’re gonna need a new drop ship, but luckily I’ve got a place.

End of chapter 2

———————————-

And there’s chapter 2: I don’t feel as confident in this one, but then again. It’s only a first draft. So my questions, my questions.

_ Do you all want a Chapter 3 on here? Does any one have any tips at all on action scenes?_

This section wasn’t as strong as I wanted to to be.

But other than that, thanks for reading, and I hope you have a good day.
