Dominik frowned. Jolene was known for her clumsiness. She could be walking on a completely flat surface and still find something to trip on. That fact made him reluctant to leave her alone for too long. She had begun pushing for independence recently. Going into the kitchen to make her own peanut butter sandwich unsupervised was one of the many things she had started to push for. The enthusiastic expression on her face made it difficult to say no. So against his better judgment, he turned and headed towards the living room while Jolene hurried into the kitchen. He had hardly taken two steps when a loud crashing sound came from the kitchen. He spun on his heel without a word and prepared to inspect the damage.
