POEM STARTER

Submitted by Robin Marlowe

Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.

Its Not The Same

Scraps of the past begin to fade

Am I or the world the one to change?

The old days I was excited for

Don’t seem to be the same anymore

Warm projections of the sun

Coat my skin with your love

But those sunny days grown cold

Is that the cost of growing old?

Snowy mounds become a raceway

Screaming a laughter echoed all day

Now the mounds don’t seem to show

All thats left is a forest dead and cold

The world isn’t the same for me

What played my drum doesn’t beat

Is this the effect of a rotting core?

Why its not the same anymore?
