POEM STARTER
Write a Petrarchan Sonnet on the theme of Autumn.
A Petrarchan Sonnet has 14 lines; the first 8 must have a rhyme scheme ABBAABBA, the last 6 can have variable rhymes, but are normally split into 2 sets of 3 lines.
Slowly But Not So Surely
It is simple in theory
To refrain from immorality
Renew my mentality
Yet practically weary
I deflect by query
Practicing comfortability
Seeking a technicality
What are you doing Harry?
The battle has been won,
By pain, by suffering, by love.
Yet you demand the strife
Remember what’s been done,
Let Him descend like a dove,
And put on this New Life
