Sometimes adults need teaching moments. Those are more frustrating than the ones during childhood. That was no different for our mom.

She tried to cover it up until we fell asleep but we could hear her mumble to herself anyway. Mom cried like she did most Mondays but this time it was worse than normal. She had broken out the wine and she was drenched in her own tears.

“I love them I love my family but where’s my happiness? I can’t love me and them so I need someone to love me so I can love them good.”

Mom took a big gulp of the wine from the bottle.
