I’ve created a monster, one to call my own

I’ve created a monster who lives in my home

He hides in my closet and under my bed

A lot of the time he lives inside of my head

I take him everywhere with me

Vacations, walks, work, and even to the beach

And while I’m working, he does his work too

Doing any and everything to my head, that I’ll allow him to do

Everywhere I go, he comes along

He’s even with me right now, while I’m writing this poem

Unfortunately, he sits with me very heavily

More times than not, I try to pray him away

I need to do that for more than just a day

I’ve created a monster, somehow he only stays in my head

Sometimes I wish I could see him on the outside of it

I’ve created a monster, out of nothing at all

I then proceeeded to make everything his fault

I’ve created a monster who basically lives with me

I’ve created a monster out of my depression and anxiety
