The only reminder of freedom she has

The only way to feel the same

Even with a capturer’s game

Even being forcibly tame

I know why the caged bird sings

To the capturers who live like kings

The capturers give her grace

To still, at least keep her face

To be herself, in her cage

To not be wasted in her rage

She dreams of someday

To soar up high

But for now…

It’s all she can do
