Is there anything that would have changed you?

Why were you so scared?

If I told you what I wanted

Would you have given it to me?

How is my heart still haunted

By what you failed to hear and see?

Why couldn’t you see me?

Why wouldn’t you just hear?

What was it that made you doubt me?

Was it suspicion, stubbornness, or fear?

What if the roles were reversed?

What if I was your parent — your father?

What if I acted so broken, so cursed?

But why wonder such things? Why bother?
