POEM STARTER
‘The flood flowed cold with inky blood
and yet the wet sky blinked with stars in deep slumber’
Write a poem with internal rhymes, ending with this line. Internal rhyme, in this case, is where words within the same line rhyme with each other.
The Flood
It’s dark and no soul could be found hanging around,
Just like any other night in this wretched town.
In this place it’s easy to get lost,
you're lucky if you can find your way out.
These days the lady never appears,
Most people can never seem to find luck.
Everybody is stuck and nobody is free,
The sun is gone and every night the bells start to ring.
As the streets go empty, and everything goes dim...
You hear the alarm and on the alleys they come
The flood flowed cold with inky blood and yet the
wet sky blinked with stars in deep slumber.
