The night was dark,

The dogs did not bark.

Macy was in her bed

As a bat flew on the cat’s mat.

Macy’s cat said

To the naughty bat:

“Get off my bed!

I’ll bite your head!”

“No, I will play.

You have no say,”

The bat said.

“I’ll fly in Macy’s hat!”

The cat said,

“You’re bad, bat.

I’ll catch you with my paw,

And I’ll eat you raw!”

But the bat

Flew in the hat,

And Macy’s cat said,

“Meow!”

Macy put on her hat,

And the bat bit her head.

“Oh no, you are bad, bat,”

Macy and the cat said.

The bat was sad

Being called bad.

She flew away

Without more play.

Tick tock

time went by

Macy lay sick in bed,

The cat was very sad,

Rabies had been in the bat,

And Macy was going mad.
