Write a story where people are limited to only three lies in their lifetime.
Is your protagonist about to use up their first, or maybe their last?
Painfully Honest
I can only lie just a few times, like three
so I am stuck to always tell the truth
It makes life harder, things more complicated
Having to never really feel like I’m free
Always feeling like I’m trapped
With having to be honest over everything
I can’t really ever just “fake it”
Even when sometimes faking it can be good
It can help smoothe things out
Make things less uncomfortable
Make people happier
Can even be good for protecting
Protecting People from pain
From conflicts or broken feelings
lying is not always bad
So, why can I basically just never really lie?
Because, although honesty is something good
Something that can make things better
It doesn’t mean that’s always the case
I shouldn’t lie all the time, but I also shouldn’t be so painfully honest
