WRITING OBSTACLE
Submitted by Katelyn Jane
Write a chapter of a self-help book written by the absolute worst person to receive this kind of advice from.
What kind of awful advice might be found here?
Chapters 5: Improving Self-Worth
We all struggle with our self worth in today's day and age. How are we supposed to increase it so we can be the best versions of ourselves? I have outlined three steps you can take everyday to work towards an improved self image.
1. Compare yourself to others.
How are you supposed to know how you’re doing if you’re not comparing your achievements, status, looks etc to your peers? Follow them on social media, see what they’re up to and use it as an indication of how well you’re doing in comparison. Look at what they post, say and do and question whether you are doing as well or if you should be pursuing similar things.
2. Write down your failings.
Write down every mistake and failure that you make each day. How are you supposed to know what you did wrong if you don’t keep track? Write down all the ways you have failed that day and read them over. Remember those failings and try to avoid making the same mistakes. If you make the same mistake multiple times, focus on that flaw. It’s important we are aware of our issues so we can improve them.
3. Never ask for help.
You can’t improve YOUR self worth with other people’s input. This is a competitive world and you can’t rely on anyone to help you. You’ll become your best self if you isolate yourself. View everyone as competition or convince yourself they’re out to sabotage you. Don’t share weaknesses or ideas. Be your own person.
If you apply these three steps, you will start to see a huge improvement in how you view yourself and the world around you. Pretty soon you will feel like you can conquere the world.
