the sky is dark

but the noise is bright

and the lights are loud

my heels click the ground

but it’s quiet compared to the sound of them in my hometown

everyone’s laughing

and chitterchating

their face lit with a special glow

i hide behind my hood and observe this place

each light

each noise

each face

it’s so warm and it’s full of so much noise

but i’ve never been so alone and so cold ever before
