Write an ode to an extinct animal, without ever saying the animal’s name - this rule also applies to the title.
Ode to a Sweet, Old Slowpoke
I wanted to write about an animal
Sadly, an extinct one
That was quite interesting, not dull
But, unfortunately, there are now none
None of these shy creatures
So deeply reserved
So relaxed and having such nice features
Seeing them go extinct is quite undeserved
Their big limbs, long necks and thick tails
Their strong saddleback shells, beautifully gray
Their massive size that never falls short or fails
Yet their slow speed prevents them from doing much on any day
Which is fine
They just like to eat, drink, sleep, chill around
They’re very in control, the type who wouldn’t mind being in line
Wouldn’t cause them to be violent or frown
Very peaceful and sweet
Like how I wrote before
These slow-moving giants, they’re very neat
The type you wouldn’t mind spending so much time for
May they rest in peace
Chilling wherever they could be after being wiped out
Still being hopefully left in one piece
Eating their plants, drinking their water and slowly moving without a doubt
