POEM STARTER

Childhood Shit
There is nothing so sickening
As a child’s tears in the night
Soon skin starts thickening
And fears lose their might
But all the space in between
All the pain so formative
Whilst begging to be seen
And not wanting to live
You heard me singing
My desperate solitary lullabies
All the while I was dreaming
I could disappear into the sky
Here I was drowning
Thrashing in my own mind
Violently screaming for help
And finding no reply
You knew the whole time
No monsters were under the bed
You knew the whole time
They were all in my head
You let me believe it
You left me alone
And I couldn’t see it
To me you were home
