At the weekends average high-schooler Brandon took care of a demonic arcade, demons occupying arcade machines was not on his bingo card but hey that’s how the cookie crumbles.

This weekend though, they teamed up and thought it would be funny to wind him up.

So at closing they chose to flash ‘game over’ in bright red letters, this gave him a fright but nothing new.

“Try harder”, he said.

Lights flickered and he heard a collective groan come from the arcade machines. The machines went blank and he went home. Crashed into bed but woke up about 1 am to the sound of 80s synth music, it was coming from outside his window.

It stopped, popping the latch he stuck his, it was cold and he could see his breath. He stared down the street and the music started playing again.

His eyes wide, he saw one of the arcade game machines in the middle of the street, hairs standing on end, he fell back in his room, window open and curtains swaying almost in time to the eighties synth.
