the dark can be loud or silent.

full of rustling leaves,

and buzzing of bugs.

or full of nothingness,

just the faint glow of stars.

some find comfort in the darkness.

that this is where they escape the horrors of their life.

but some say they’re afraid of the night.

that there’s monsters in the darkness,

that only come out when you’re vulnerable.

but they don’t understand.

those monsters are there,

whether it’s the darkest night, or the brightest day.

whether in heaven or hell.

they’re always there.

but the only difference,

is in the daytime,

when some think they’re safe,

they’re with people you love, aren’t they

those people drive away the monsters following you.

and you think they are the monsters of the night.

but in reality,

they’re the beings that know you the most.
