STORY STARTER

Write a short story about a fantasy creature going to the doctor for their yearly check-up. What would they measure? What constitutes as 'normal'?
Take Two And Call Me In The Morning
“I’ve been just exhausted lately. No matter how much sleep I get. I am just beat,” Periwinkle said.
“Beyond the fatigue, do you have any other symptoms?” Dr. Acorn said.
Stifling a yawn, Periwinkle reflected on the last few weeks. Her doctor’s office hadn’t changed since childhood. Hand-drawn pictures and family photos were tacked to every wall of the hobbit’s medical office.
“No I feel fine otherwise. Eating like a horse. No aches and pains. I can’t think of anything else,” Periwinkle said.
The hobbit cocked his head and examined his patient. He stood and took her pulse.
“And what about the flowers?” Dr. Acorn said.
Periwinkle looked confused.
“The perfume of peonies and sun-warmed grass. It’s all around you. Wait it’s changing to fresh baked bread. Of course you don’t notice it do you?” Dr. Acorn said and patted her cheek. “Perfectly normal, nothing to worry about.”
Instantly, Periwinkle was worried. Returning to his desk, the doctor wrote a few notes. He went to his apothecary cabinet and retrieved a few different herbs. With a wave of his hand, the dried herbs flew into the doctor’s mortar. With another wave, the pestle began grinding the herbs.
“Doc you’ve taken care of me my whole life. Give it to me straight. How sick am I!”
Dr. Acorn eased his frame back into his chair. The dried herbs twirled into individual glassine envelopes. The doctor handed Perwinkle his handful of potions.
“Well this cure me of smelling delicious,” periwinkle said worriedly.
“No this will ease the fatigue, dear. Your husband is a warlock, right! Your baby is sparking magic. It’s very common in fire witches but usually manifests later on. Must be because you’re a pixie. Now head home and take this tincture at bedtime.”
Periwinkle froze with surprise. The doctor’s office was filled with the scent of chocolate chip cookies.
