POEM STARTER

“Clouds cover the skies, rain pulls at your eyes,

but nothing hurts as much as little words turned lies'

Use this stanza as either part of, or inspiration for a poem.

Words Turned Lies

As the petals fall from the bloom

I knew it wasn’t meant to last

As the colors fade from beauty

I gave my faith and took a lash

The warmth of a cover turned cold

The hope in my blood grows old

I thought you were going to be different

But it turns out you were also distant

Were the hugs meant to keep me close?

Were the kisses meant to keep me sold?

On the idea that you were here for me

But all you want is the blood I bleed

Keep me in the dark with a light in my face

Print me with the scars from your ill game

Clouds cover the skies, rain pulled my eyes

but nothing hurt more as your words turned lies
