POEM STARTER
Suspicion
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, based on this theme.
Suspicious.
When did I start being so suspicious?
Maybe it’s the people I’ve met that are nasty & vicious.
Sometimes I put everything to question.
It can be an incredibly, tormenting obsession.
Every man I see, I suspect is the devil.
My suspicion is on another level.
Every person I meet I question their thoughts,
My stomach churns, all tangled in knots.
I remember a time when there was no one I didn’t trust.
Now being suspicious keeps me safe, it’s a must.
I’m exhausted with fakeness & feeling let down,
Feeling like everyone secretly wants me to drown.
Then sometimes I wonder if I’m wrong,
Its hard to shake suspicion when I feel it so strong.
I try to tell myself “not everyone’s the enemy”
But you see, all my life I’ve only had frenemies.
Maybe it’s time I shake this suspicion?
Yes, I’ll make that my very next mission.
No. Actually, I like it, I feel one step ahead.
I just need to hide it better, be more subtle instead 😏
