POEM STARTER

Feeling Known

Write a poem that could use this as its title or central theme.

Your memory, My thoughts

Little details, here and there.

Small conversations stuck in the air.

Late night talks and laughsโ€”

you remembered all of that.

Little details about me

no one knowsโ€”

you remember.

You remembered,

remembered how I write.

No one else does,

only you.

You remember how I hate certain things.

But the story doesnโ€™t end there,

because now all I know is youโ€™re slipping away.

Taking all my secrets, love, and passion away.

You slowly but surely pull away,

like any other day.

You were thereโ€”

then you werenโ€™t.

Iโ€™m your memory,

and youโ€™re my thoughts.

Little details about me

but you remember.

You rememberedโ€ฆ

remembered how I write.

No one else does.

Only you.

You remember the things I canโ€™t stand.

But the story doesnโ€™t end there.

Because now all I know

is the way youโ€™re slipping away,

carrying my secrets,

my love,

my passion with you.

You fade,

softly,

like the evening sky.

You were here.

And thenโ€”

you werenโ€™t.

Iโ€™m your memory.

And youโ€ฆ

youโ€™re my thoughts.
