POEM STARTER

"“What did you do?”

Write a poem that incorporates this question three times.

Choose any theme you’d like, as long as you use repetition to create an interesting effect.

What Did You Do?

It wasn’t her, it wasn’t me.

Don’t lie, I saw you flee,

flee from all of this misery.

We all knew who, so let me ask you;

“What did _you_ do?”

Your mother is dead,

your father in a hospital bed.

Look at all of this blood you have shed.

None of us knew, please let me ask you;

“_What_ did you do!?”

Now you’re on the stand,

answering questions on command.

You say it wasn’t from your hand.

Tell me the truth, let me ask you;

“What _did_ you do?”

You’re getting let free,

but I know you are guilty.

You will never escape me.

I know the truth, but let me ask you;

“What did you _do_?”
