each misty fog hiding moonlight

each darkened path and tree

each light that goes out

that it all falls down on me

the show, for the spectators

the mask for an audience

that i no longer try to ride the waves

as a surfer being watched

but that the water becomes itself

a liquid form of love

that fluidly floats. swings

gathers hints of peace

as the battle ends

the war still happening in the front

but it is as each light goes out

it is then

that i dip behind the scenes

as the sea stills after a storm

and breathe without perfroming

for an audeíence that never arrives.
