POEM STARTER
Playing With Fire.
Write a poem which uses this as the central theme.
This Isn’t How The World Should Be…
Playing with fire
Always a metaphor
But not for me
As it’s only a distress
To watch its gleam
Mother never understood
The light of its flames
Playing with fire
Isn’t only a game
It’s happening all around the world
Perhaps it’s not just it’s beauty
But also it’s danger goes unseen
It’s flames are roaring
Ashes are soaring
The sky bluish, reddish, green
This isn’t the world I wanted it to be
Where playing with fire went unspoken
Unseen of its use of sin
Only burns the remains of what has been broken
I’m afraid I’ll be the next to play with fire
_Or I’ll be the next to be between its flaming attire_
Burning the innocent isn’t what it seems
it’s all a lie about the ashes they acquired
It’s not too late to say that they have been seen
But not by the whole world that has been blinded by liars …
Children starving, afraid to step out
Afraid that the fire might eat them inside out
Bullets and bombs from left and right
Innocents have to fight
Against the world blinded by liars
And their wrong use of this dangerous light
_Playing with fire was never right…_
_So why are we blinded when it’s clearly in our field of sight?_
