When I quietly reminisce

The memories are bittersweet

But when it’s you, those times I miss

The burden of memory

Takes a painful toll on me

Knowing I can’t go back in time

But still, I shamefully plea

I reminisce on the happy times

When I was once wealthy

Wealthy with your presence

But I always recall the ones that make me feel guilty

Times when I noticed your fading happiness

Days when I saw your smile drift

But still, I ignored it with bitter selfishness

Time is a funny thing

Because you can’t go back

Though I still desperately cling

And I wish time would be in our favor

But to bring your kind soul back to this cruel world,

Would only make me less of a savior
