I saw my friend get shot

She grabbed her bloodied shirt, fell down

To the cold, hard ground

There was blood spilling everywhere, quite a lot

I got behind the shooter

Knocked him out with my water bottle

Got knocked out hard, it’s made out of metal

I got past the shooter so I could help her

I went to grab her hand

Trying to help her

Trying to understand

Then I saw something with black feathers, not fur

It was a crow, and it landed on a local stand

From that, I got upset, knowing I would lose her
