'Farewell, my almost lover'
End your poem with this line, reflecting on lost love.
Farewell Forever But Just For Now
To Yellow Socks,
You know who you are.
I might not have the courage to send this to you,
But writing this will save me at least one regret.
To the boy with brown hair and brown eyes,
Some know who you are,
But I knew you the best,
Even after I made the worst mistake.
To my ‘twin’,
I wish you had listened,
I wish I had listened,
But most of all I wish I had said yes.
To E.A.,
I didn't say goodbye,
And I don't know if i’ll ever get the chance to say hello,
To hug you again,
To say the words never spoken.
To my real almost lover,
I hurt you,
I hurt myself,
I’m the monster of this fairy tale with no happy ending.
But then there’s hope.
Not for me and you,
But for what was possibly supposed to happen.
Of course,
It takes time to move on,
Or to attempt.
And even though there’s ‘another’,
Another who doesn't know I'm broken,
I need you to know I miss you,
I’ll always love you.
Before you I didn't know what it was to be loved no matter what,
To be understood,
To be loved inside and out.
You were my first real love,
And I could _never _forget you,
And _never _forgive myself.
Farewell, my almost lover,
My always and forever,
But also my could've been, never was.
With love,
Your girl,
Jules.
