WRITING OBSTACLE

Your character throws an innocent teaparty, but serves something that causes quite a controversy.

Poisoned tea

The sun was slowly setting down the horizon, projecting its final rays of light through Lana's kitchen window. She had put on her best evening dress, her usually messy hair was now put up in a styled bun, she had put on the only juelery she owned while her face was meticulously decorated with makeup that she had borrowed. Yet, despite her fancy appearance, she could not have been feeling more desperate, more guilty, more in pain.

3 months ago now, Lana's fiancé had put an end to their relationship and cancelled their upcoming wedding. She hadn't gotten over it, and this morning as she discovered that he had gotten engaged to another woman, she was certain that she probably never would. He had been the only thing she could think about since he left.

Tonight was going to be the last time that Lana would see him, she had begged him to get a cup of tea with her in order for her to find closure, to which he had unwillingly agreed.

Someone knocked on the door and shortly after, he walked into the living room. He had a blank expression on his face, keeping his eyes lowered refusing to look at the woman he had once promised to marry.

-" Finally, you're late James' she snapped before following him into the living room

-" Why are you even doing this Lana. It's over. Why can't you just understand that?" he replied almost in a desperate tone.

Without replying, she layed 2 teacups on the table, gesturing to him to sit.

-" Oh come on, you used to love tea parties. I just want to share that moment with you, one last time"

-"One cup and then I'm gone" he sighted before taking a seat facing Lana.

-"Do you know the real reason why I insisted on you coming over?" he shakes his head "I tried out a new tea recipe, made it myself, I wanted you to try it" she said with a smile while pouring a dark red mixture into his cup.

-"You really remind me of a witch sometimes Lana" he smiled at her sadly before bringing the cup to his lips.

"What the fuck did you put in this" his voice shaking, his head getting dizzy, the world around him was suddenly spinning. "HELP-"

Lana, without a move, looked at him with a sad smile.

-" Ethylene Glycol and mercury moon leaves- do you like it?" she whispered to him. " Forgetful of me! I forgot to mention the side effects-"

-"I-I can't breathe I can't breathe Lana make it go away". he fell off his chair

-" Dizzyness, loss of breath" she stood up walking towards him and with a whisper, "and finally,Death."

He let go of one last groan of despair before his heartbeat finally ceased.

"If I can't have you, no one can."
