POEM STARTER
Write an elegy about the death of something other than a person.
An elegy is a sad poem, traditionally expressing sorrow for someone who has passed away.
My Lovely Skipper
Oh my poor little one
You were so young and passed away too soon
From the moment we laid eyes on each other you comforted me with your sweet gaze
With your little black eyes all twinkling inside and greeting me at your cage
When you parted ways with us
We had an empty space
Waiting for you to return yet we knew that wasn’t possible to do
Your energetic work on the wheel,
Your jumping skills from one side to the other
You skipped so much and now you lay at rest
Oh little one
Oh darling gentle one
You will be remembered for your positivity and lightining the mood when we were sad
A sweet sorrowful farewell and a see you soon a bitter sweet one for our memories together we’re always going to stick with me till the day I pass away too
