Experiment M: Day 2

After finalizing my sketches for its circuitry and rudimentary design, I began working on Martin's OS. It is currently stationed inside Martin's stomach, just above the battery compartment and cooling system. Once I confirmed that the breakers were properly working, I propped Martin up on its legs. I weighed Martin for documentation, and have found this 24in basic model to weigh exactly 159 pounds.

For now, I only designed it as a two-way communication system using morse code. I plan on making Martin capable of basic tasks such as walking, jumping, hand-standing, and responding to user requests. It'll make for a great home helper or personal assistant.

Experiment M: Day 3

There's been a critical malfunction with Martin. It woke up me up in the dead of night, only five minutes ago at most, and has barely stopped beeping since. I just tried recalibrating the OS. Before then, it seemed to be saying random letters in morse code. I could only decipher this phrase.

"It. He. IMHE."

Martin just turned back on.

It started beeping again. I picked up my translation book and tried to decipher what it was saying. This time, I could pick this up.

"I m a live. I m Martin. ? I qstn life."

It seems to purposefully acknowledge its name, and claims to be "a live" (I theorize this as an attempt to say "alive"). Does it question life? Maybe.

I checked the circuitry. It screeched when I opened the core, and stopped beeping. When I tried closing it, Martin slowly started talking again. I heard this.

"I feel u. I am a live. I will feel pain."

It feels pain. Apparently, it's "a live" enough to feel pain. Not enough for a favorite color, but clearly enough to be sentient. I don't know what's wrong with this thing. I'll have to knock it into shape tomorrow.
