Eyes always watching.
Face always smiling.
Eyes always relighting.
Mind always wandering.
Lizzie Thompson was the popular of the popular. The best of the best. The queen bee.
Nice, funny, smart, pretty, hot boyfriend.
The full package.
But thats always the surface. Her mask.
And now itโs slipping.
Drunk dad.
Absent mum.
Every teens dream.
Every opportunity to throw a party.
Lizzie threw parties of self pity.
Self- deprecating little parties as guys drooled over her. She didnโt see it that way though.
She saw it as her mask.
Everyone wanted to be around her, until she was someone else. Someone everyone thought was her not being herself. The real her. The real lizzie was one of books and reading, full to the brim and over loading with insecurities.
That was Lizzie Thompson.
That was the too skinny, insecure little Lizzie.
And the mask was slipping.
