I go downstairs with my AirPods on. I’m listening to _Blurred Lines_. An amazing song in my opinion, and if you’re opinion is that it’s bad—you’re wrong. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

I walk into the kitchen where my older sister, Jamila, and her daughter, Leah are already there. Jamila is sipping tea while Leah colours a rainbow very badly.

"What do they make dreams for when you got them jeans on?" I sing, dancing slightly as I pour myself a glass of ice-cold water. "Why do they make dreams for? You the hottest mm in this place!"

"Ayan, please. It is far too early for this."

I turn around to face her. I look her dead in the eye and sing again, "I feel so lucky! Ay ay ay." I move over to Leah. "You wanna hug me?" I pick her up and she hugs me. "What rhymes with hug me?" I sing the rest of the tune under my breath.
