POEM STARTER

Life in Your Hands

Write a poem or short story about if you were death and had to choose each day who must die.

A Boon Companion

I love my job, I think

Blank stare, scratching my head…a blink

Well, I do what I must

Everyone, everything will eventually turn do dust

Some of you must think of me as grey and bleak

Some of you might think, I only come for the weak

I am not scary and grave

And when I knock, You don’t need to be brave

I don’t pick and choose

That’s not what I do

I swear, it is true

Life happens, it’s so fast

So, enjoy, while it lasts

I am a friend a soul mate

You don’t need to hate

When I come, it is only to open the gate

No matter the deeds or fate

I love my job, because it’s part of living

Freedom, harmony…quiet…giving

So, don’t despair when I finally come

I am a familiar

I’ll be taking you home
