WRITING OBSTACLE
Demonstrate. Incapacitate. Solidify.
In a story of no more than 10 sentences, use these three words in any order. The point is to create a story line that allows you to link them all naturally, without forcing them into random places.
The Assassin In The Rooftops
As she stared down at the crowd from her rooftop perch, the assassin felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time. She was nervous. She had done this so many times before with no fear, so why now? Before she could gather her thoughts, she saw movement in the crowd below, and she knew instantly that it was her mark.
The royal family had arrived to the demonstration.
She took a deep inhale as she aimed her weapon at the king, who had caused her and her people so much harm. “The nerve he has to act like he cares by going to this demonstration,” the thought filled her with so much rage. Without a second thought, she fired three shots, knowing she successfully incapacitated the man after hearing the gasps and screams from below. She had no remorse, pulling her hood over her head and disappearing into the night rooftops, knowing her message had been solidified.
