Bluebird Of Happiness
A rainy and miserable day.
Everything is gloomy and gray.
Raindrops fall on the rooftops, so lightly
reminding me of tears from heaven. Sometimes
it’s more of a steady pattern like a heartbeat or drumbeat.
Then when it gets really bad, it sounds like horse hooves
stomping the ground in anticipation of the thunderstorms coming.
My frequent visitor is the female grosbeak.
She’s adorable with beautiful light and brown
markings. The grosbeak has the biggest black
eyes that melt my heart. She usually eats in sync
with her male friend. A nuthatch, a woodpecker,
and a cardinal are all new birds today —possibly
because of the rain? Otherwise, I’ve seen goldfinches,
robins, red finches, and crows. I’m looking
every day for new birds to discover.
With my grosbeak on the side ,suddenly a bright
blue sapphire comes out of the sky. You can imagine
my surprise. It was a beautiful blue Indigo Bunting. It
was as if God had dropped this little blue bird of happiness
out of heaven just for me—to remind me that no matter
how dark it gets, light will always come. Also, to live in the
present moment because you never know what beautiful
amazing things are coming for you. So be on the lookout for
your own bluebird of happiness.
