I sneak into the cave, like a wrath, quiet and invisible…until a rock rolls from beneath my feet.

I feel the coldness of a blade at my throat. I freeze.

“And who are you?” A low voice asks from a man, hidden from my view.

I swallow. “Just a girl on a bit of a quest,” I respond.

“Hmm,” the man replies.

I try to kick him, but his grip is too strong.

“Lets skip the pleasentries, shall we? You and I both know we aren’t here for small talk,” I say between my gritted teeth.

“Exactly,” the man replies. “Why are you here, in this cave?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m looking for the Opal of Otherness. The King requested I take it for the sake of the kingdom,” I explain.

The man releases me from his grip.

I look at him, and find him very familiar.

I laugh right in his face. “Wait, you’re the prince! What! I-I what are _you_ doing here?”

“Exactly what you’re doing, getting the Opal of Otherness like my father _requested_.” He looked angry.

He shook his head in disbelief. “I didn’t know my father was _this_ desperate for me to wed. He set us up.”

I laugh again. “How romantic.”
