The scene opens with your protagnoist paddling hard down the river, desperately trying to outrun their pursuers.
Just Keep Swimming
As I threw my boat into the river, I knew they were right behind me. They had been following me on land from at least 30 minutes. We had started our case back at the camp, they started following me while I was starting my fire. Then once they started following me, I just started running. I didn’t have anywhere to run too exactly. I didn’t even know this area well. I was just running.
As I was hastily paddling down this river, I was constantly looking behind to see how close they were behind. So far I have had a pretty good lead on them. They were still close to the shore. I kept paddling even further down the river, until I noticed water on the floor of my boat. I could tell this tiny boat was old and previously had a few repairs. In all the fuzz of the case, I was probably paddling too hard and ran into a few sharp rocks. I was trying to steer the boat closer to the shore. I looked behind me to see they weren’t there. I had finally outrun the bees.
