As my hands begin to tremble I drop the knife. It hits the ground with a quiet ding that makes me focus on the body that lies before me. It’s just a body. Not living or breathing. Just a body. As I stare at it i hear the door behind me creak open. _Fuck did I not lock the door? _I think to myself. I turn around and look my brother right in the eyes.

“Is that mom?” His voice was broken and quiet as the words fell out of his mouth. I can’t say anything because no matter what I say I know it wouldn’t sound like the truth.

“Listen she-“ I begin to explain but he cuts me off and runs over to her body. He slowly kneels down and cry’s silently into her chest.

“Mom? Mom please!” He turns to me. “What did you do? How could you do this to mom?”

I can’t say anything besides “She’s not who she says she is. I know it sounds like bullshit but please trust me.” My eyes fill with tears as I see my brother shake his head in disgust.

“Go to hell.” He says and runs away and the second he exits the room I know my life will never be the same.
