POEM STARTER
Deep Roots
Write a poem about the importance of roots - it could be physical (like a tree) or metaphorical (like a character's upbringing), or a comparison of both!
Roots Deeper Than Your Love
(IM BACK YALL!! HAD SOME TRAUMA SO NOW ITS TIME TO WRITE ABT IT)
I got a blast from the past today
It was you, of course, all my memories are of you
A waitress, tattooed with a symbol from a movie you cherished so deeply
It brought me back
Back to you, our friendship, and now the crushed ruins of it all
The waitress, who unknowingly sparked a flurry of thoughts of you in my head
It wasn’t her fault, i thought honestly
I got to thinking, maybe it was your fault
For ruining what should’ve been such a minor moment
For ruining a (not so) good friendship
Maybe it was me, maybe it was you
Or, just maybe, it was the deep roots you had tangled up with this movie
Those roots that haunt me with the reminder that you loved the movie seemingly more than you did me.
