In The Shadows Of The Stars

The other day something happened that I would’ve thought impossible,

A sad reminder that all live is unpredictable,

One second everything was great, the next something completely inexplicable,

Unbelievable, unthinkable, inconceivable,

Unreasonable completely premature,

A sad reminder of how precious life can turn into a battle,

That makes everyone bow their heads in a moment of prayer…

For Chastain Dale Richele Burris,

That made the whole world that knew her sad when they heard this,

A mere soul the age of 31,

That left her friends and loved ones in a moment of time that can’t be undone,

Where the love and light from the ones she loved,

Shined brighter than the light of a 1,000 suns,m.

What could she have done to deserve this,

A mere child that faced a heart attack that didn’t miss,

She had a tight blockage that the doctors removed with a stent,

She was moved to the icu with a spirit stronger than cement,

So let the 100’s of prayers gather as one on their heavenly ascent,

Carried up high on the wings of a promise!

She’s been moved to the ICU for some damage to the front of her heart,

The recovery process could be easy or hard,

True strength is our ability to embrace our scars,

Not as enemies, but our memories memoir,

It doesn’t matter how many or where they are,

They only show our resilience from ‘neath the stars.

Today she heads home to begin her recovery,

Everything’s a teacher we only need to find the meaning,

Her journey is far from over, we see that clearly,

She faced death early yet walked away a twice blessed divinity,

As every prayer reached heaven in a hymn of compassion and sympathy and,

Every beat of her heart is a drum in life’s symphony.

God, thank you for all you’ve done,

For the battles we face and still carry on,

For the courage to face our fears and continue to overcome,

For the challenge Chastain faced head on and still won,

With love from all over, every second she gets stronger,

A sister, daughter, wife and mother,

There’s nothing that can pull that from under,

Her, like a tree after a storm she stands taller,

Than anything that can harm her,

As you touch her heart with your love that lasts forever and,

As you hold her in your arms she’s safe for you’ll always protect her,

Thank you God for what you do as minute’s turn to hours,

As you tend to our wounds that you bloom into flowers,

As we look to the sky and ponder,

How every breath we take is a miracle.

Thank you for always being there and overseeing that she recovers,

As you heal the pain that makes her suffer,

Thank you God from one Angel to another!!

Amen.
