WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a story with a non-chronological narrative that takes place at a wedding.
It can be in any genre, as long as the storyline is told out of chronological order. What can this add to the narrative?
A Joyous Massacre
What a wonderful day!
This bride looks so gorgeous today!
The groom looks so handsome!
No one looks lonesome!
The groom went insane
Stabbed his wife in the brain
Blood has splattered everywhere
Too much blood to see and hear
The groom has his two rings, so well-made!
For him and his wife so their love will never fade!
Every guest is here!
To watch love unfold with nothing to fear!
He held his bloodied knife
Saw the deacon try to stop him so he took his life
Ran around, trying to stab people
He stabbed people’s faces, stomachs, and limbs off, just awful
The cake is here, and it’s so lovely!
So are all the gifts for all to see!
The decorations look proper and unblemished!
It’s so perfectly arranged, so how could it get blemished?!
As the groom kept stabbing everyone
He got out his big machine gun
Started to shoot all of the people around
Getting gore and blood everywhere, nothing even a bit clean to be found
Oh, the groom and the bride!
Their families show up, their familial love being so vast and wide
So happy they’re getting married to each other!
So happy from every mother to every brother!
The groom killed everyone, making sure no one made it
He picked up every bloodied piece, every bit
Off the ground and into a black bag, making sure they all could fit in
Until then the cops shot him up as they barged in
The whole wedding itself may not be flawless!
But this wedding will still be in bliss!
A great day it will still end up being!
Why, it’s going to be rocking!
