My City On Fire

The sky fell at dawn.

Just as the soft, newborn sun peaked out from the horizon, it split open with the sharp crack of a gunshot and bled furious fire onto the world below. Roaring in agony, it shed ashen tears that seared our skin and clogged our lungs. The streets burned, the buildings collapsed, the people scattered. Wealthy and poor became frivolous adjectives as homes of all classes turne...

My City On Fire

I can hear the crackling an whistling from the flames

So close it starts to burn my skin like a sire

Every direction covered with destruction

Everything burned up in my life

Now just left filled with frustration

Will I ever be free from this an actually live

I try but I fear there’s nothing left to give...

My City On Fire

Lightning strikes but never twice,

But once is equally unnice.

Enough to give the starting spark,

To kindling in the form of bark.

Like a virus, watch it spread.

Birds and bees and bugs all dead.

Smoke approaches — start to choke.

Gliding like the reaper’s cloak.

Save the kids and women first,

Stick around to face the worst.

Grab the photos and the pets,

See how far away we get.

Come back later...

dear e.g,

if nobody ever wanted me in this world,

it’s better to destroy it

in hopes i can be reborn in a better one.

it can seem a bit hopeless,

but this is my choice.

everyone has already evacuated,

just the pure joy of a place on fire.

i know for sure you do not care about my emotions,

but...

My City On Fire

Walking down the street of my city I think to my self “What happened here” I look around and I see trash on the floor, people yelling at each other, a smell that’s no city should smell like, I see people smoking, drinking slowly killing themselve but will the government tell them to to stop no In fact they encourage it and when people try to speak up about it and tell them what happens to them tho...

My City On Fire

My city on fire

I watch as it burns

I turn my lantern off

It’s no longer of use

The dancing flames

Give me all the light I need

My city on fire

I watch as it burns

I turn my tv off

It’s no longer needed

The flickering flames

Entertain me plenty

My city on fire

I watch as it burns

I turn my mind off

And lean back in my chair

The hungry flames

Push past my door

My city on fire

I watch as it burns...

My City On Fire

I’ve been a city girl since birth.

I could never farm or hunt or herd,

I probably couldn’t even surf.

In every way, I was raised in the city.

My brain was practically one itself.

Look to my city, the one in my mind,

look at the chaos that unfolds,

as I get trapped in a warped time.

There’s way too much thoughts,

jumbled as smog in the sky.

Overthinking is only one problem,

in the city that lives...

My City On Fire

Fires, Liars,

They have gone to far

Did they drive here in their car

How did they get through the burning city

They were let through by people oh what a pity...

City Of Fire

In the city of fire, where passions blaze,

Neon lights flicker, lost in a haze.

Streets pulse with energy, hearts racing fast,

In the heat of the moment, we’re free at last.

Every corner whispers secrets untold,

Dreams forged in flames, stories unfold.

The night ignites, with laughter and tears,

In this fiery city, we conquer our fears.

With every heartbeat, the city roars,

In ...
