Loud as thunder.

Quiet as a whisper.

It sneaks up on you

before startling you awake

with a loud BOOM!

Regret.

Followed by bright flashes

of what once was

and what could have been.

Regret....

Don’t want friends;

Friends or love.

Love being alone.

Alone with my thoughts.

Thoughts of a make-believe world-

World better than reality.

Reality is disappointing.

Disappointing when compared,

Compared to my fantasy life....

I’m forever alone.

Who would want to be around

Someone like me?

I don’t even want to be around me.

I’m a failure.

Too sensitive,

Too needy,

Too self-centered.

Sometimes I wonder

Would anyone would notice

If I just slowly faded away

Until I was nothing at all?

I’m invisible,

Insignificant.

Yet significant enough

To ruin the lives of others.

Wait!

I’m not invisible.

I’m a problem.

A flaw in...

It’s overcrowded

No space to move or to breathe

It’s become too much

She cries out in pain

As they take all that she has

Until she’s empty

Fires come alive

Wars become second nature

Destruction is here

The food is all gone

The rivers have all run dry

The air is toxic

We are on the edge

Of our mass extinction

It’s all our fault...

Having no face means having no identity. How would anyone know who I am if they can’t see a face?

Having no face means having no connection. I can’t see people, smell the roses or use my voice.

As you can see, being born faceless is no walk in the park. Yet, here we are and here I am. I am the face of the faceless....
