Bones

Hermes Writing

1 min read

You told me you loved me.

Maybe you didn’t mean it.

Maybe those words have slipped from your lips so often that you throw them around like laundry.

But if that were true then how come you told it to her?

And the way you said it made my bones rattle.

The way you said it pulled the breath out of me.

You look at her the way I looked at you…

I don’t wish you any ill will.

I just wish you never promise...

Masochist (Free Writing)

Hermes Writing

1 min read

I don’t remember a lot from my childhood, but I remember the closet.

I was scared of it for the longest…

until I wasn’t.

As I grew older, it became my home… my safe place.

I filled it with all of my bloodcurdling screams, crying out to God to save me.

He never did.

I remember clutching my throat and gasping for breath as my heart pounded up my throat and out my mouth and then down my face....

Sleep Deprived

Hermes Writing

1 min read

They walk around like zombies

Eyes hanging and yawning.

Wrapped in soft cotton blankets

Minds unwilling to wake.

I haven’t slept for two nights

I’ve got to keep trying.

No I won’t lay my head down, delusions swirl

I just saw a rainbow squirrel.

I will work for years if that is what I may

I won’t go to sleep until I have an A.

Let the suns rays cover my face

I won’t turn away.

Yes I am slee...

Heaven Is Golden And Cheesy

Hermes Writing

Mac and Cheese

The delicious cheese melting on your tongue

Sprinkle some bacon and add a bit more cheese

Oh god Mac and Cheese is a golden yellow heaven.

I can eat it forever and ever and then again.

When I die I hope I become Mac and cheese....

Why

Hermes Writing

1 min read

You loved me.

That is what I thought.

But you did not.

You never loved me.

Just tell me why?

Why did you string me along for so long?

What did I do to deserve that?

Why didn’t you love me?...

I’ll Take This Pain

Hermes Writing

3 min read

I stare at the words as they leave your mouth. I don't want to believe them.

I blink once as if it will make them disappear. Twice.

Go away.

They don't. My heart breaks.

Not the way you see a normal broken heart. It's nothing like the ``broken heart emoji, you know, the one with the crack down the middle?

No this was much different. My heart had thousands of cracks. The way you see a crack o...

Remember

Remember silly bands?

Yeah me too, We’d collect them with our best friend and trade them during school and if you had the elephant one you were considered cool. And playing tag every recess? How about 7 up?

Playing on the swing yeah it was real fun, Those were good times weren’t they? Oh yeah. Definitely, I remember one time I did a backbend and crawled around the school on the last day of scho...

Storm Chaser

Hermes Writing

1 min read

I could talk about it for days;

The flood.

The hurricane.

The drought…

I could tell you how we were a storm;

And I loved it.

Our love; a storm.

I was; a storm.

Sometimes I can still see; the storm

Deep in my dreams.

Supernatural.

Strong

Fast

Surely someone saw the sea start to rise?

The storm;

Angry

Resentful

Tired.

Ripping through cities

Tearing apart homes

Why did you tear apart our home?...

Lily’s Shadow

Hermes Writing

Shadow-

Seeing her like this breaks my heart so. If only I could tell her what was going on behind her back. The way he betrayed her by loving another woman. The way he lead her on. I wish I could have told her.

Lily-

How could he do this to me? I bit my tongue to hold back a sob. It feels like someone is squeezing my heart tugging at it to rip it out. Oh god… oh god why? Everything I gave and...

Turn Your Back So I May Leave

Hermes Writing

1 min read

Knees scrape against the floor.

Watch my knees bleed.

I will beg for you tonight if it means

you wont leave.

I would rather die than let you leave my sight.

I will beg and beg you again.

Tears are now my haven.

You tore my heart and broke it in two

You can leave if you want to

Leave me to bleed in the grass

I refuse to ever turn back.

No. No I won’t go back.

I refuse to be your puppet from here ...
