Storm

Sara Mosier

It spirals and crashes

implodes from the inside out

sending pieces of me scattered

into an untamable wind

sky opens black,

the rain ceases

then suddenly it’s over

the curtain closes to

the floor...

The world has both brightened and darkened

I hold onto the precious parts that keep me moving the sky seems ready to crash and still today, the song of the birds can be heard outside the window...

Tomorrow

Tom hadn’t realized how long he’d been walking until he landed in an ankle deep puddle. His guts and heart hurt and this was the one thing that was about to send him over the edge. A shimmering tarot card was just on the edge of the water so he picked it up.

On the back was a number.

‘Call within five minutes of finding’

Full Moon

Sara Mosier

1 min read

Purge the darkness from your veins

let it spindle, crawl, and rise

into the ether

all the heavy empty of

the winter months that

have settled in your bones,

weave it out from within

until all you feel is

moonlight in your blood...

Guest

Sara Mosier

1 min read

“Get out of my house!” He screamed while the walls bled red and an ear piercing weeping infiltrated the air. “Get out please!”

But he who must leave was too much in love with the mortal standing in the hearth of his

from a nearby shattered

window

glass scattered,

disconnected from

this aging room

and here we are

you and I

locked in these walls

forever...

Let’s Go

Sara Mosier

1 min read

It began as all bad days do,

feet hit the floor

no time to breathe

heart racing mad

anxiety merging with

being late and it’s only

Wednesday...

Red

Sara Mosier

1 min read

Forest of red, mad and in love,

falling apart and clinging to

your arms while the earth and roots

bleed endlessly beneath are feet,

the end was a lot more beautiful than

I imagined it would be...

Through His Eyes

Sara Mosier

1 min read

He was always able to see his husband’s tender soul through his touch. In small gestures passing by and skimming fingers tips against his back as he aimlessly made coffee. Early morning hugs that consisted of leaning his forehead against his shoulder like a cat nudge. How loving, how sensitive he was could easily be seen in bitten nature of his bottom lip a nervous habit as he worried about anyone...

Forgotten

Sara Mosier

1 min read

I had forgotten

you were soft spoken

when you were happy,

weeping when angry

and so sturdy yet soft

now you are only

a name etched in stone

and photographs taped

in a book we made

together

a hundred years ago...
