Control Center

Anywhere but my head would be peaceful, because ultimately, the bad memories associated with places come from my mind. The bad plans hatched and potentially carried out come from my brain. It's all from up there but the flow doesn't stop until it just the ground. Literally. Figuratively. All of it from the control center. So shut down the control center....

Mental Consumption

The mental blaze consumed him faster than the physical fire ever could. The obsession, the pull towards the heat as the flames grew height and hotter. No one knew how it began, only the consequences that followed. As the lights grew brighter in the outside world the ignition inside grew dim....

Fake

It wasn't like he tried to win

Him as prince seemed...off

The mischief and pickpocketing

Drew in obvious scoffs

But past is never what it seems

The prince, he really was

Escaped from pirates, lived alone

Til fortune brought him back...

The Way Things Are

I remember when it was easier to forgive

If not only to say it was ok

I saved time that way

Nowadays I stay mad and the mad stays hidden

Even though the cause has since then been misplaced

Stone carvings erased were easier than painted over

So the rock is covered but indents still show

I suppose times have changed and moved

Or maybe that's been the people

No one knows why things are this way

Beca...

Internal But Not External

It all kept coming back to what he had done. What my best friend had done to hurt me the way he did. Why he had done what he did. Who put him up to it. The lasting one affects his actions would have on the rest of my life; maybe even his life. Who knew? I didn't. He for sure didn't know. I just wish I could ask him if it was worth it; was what he did worth the seemingly low price of me?...

From Where I Stood

I stood openly, knowing no one could see my face behind the deep purple umbrella I was holding. I was alone in the deserted field behind my house, but it didn't matter where I was; the town was empty anyways. The purple smoke had gotten rid of all the people that had once lived in the now shadowed houses. I watched as the cloud of color rise back into the air and floated away, as gracefully as it ...

I Didn't Expect To See Her

When I decided to take a walk through the woods that day, I didn't expect to see her.

An unplanned walk usually consisted of hours of me looking at all the nature, soaking everything in. It was my only chance to get away from the duties that awaited me back at home, inside the tall, brick walls. She might have been in disguise; perhaps she was one of those magical beings I had only heard tales a...

Something To Say About Sand

There isn't usually much to say about sand

I mean, it often implies nothing of interest

A metaphor for desertion or a real desert

Both complete with dunes and trails

But paths dissolve while dunes just change

So what am I to tell when asked about sand

The words of others speak of glass and heat

They use up most of the words about sand

So I'll try again to speak on simple sand

The simplicity is si...

Revolution

It didn't used to be like this

Constant threat and alarm

The exhaustion that followed

As we averted our eyes

And made believe we knew nothing

Nothing about him

The plans he inspired

Our the desire to be free for him

Long forgotten in many

But we know the truth now

Even though enlightenment stings

It's what you do with knowledge

Many of us no longer fight

But our motto lives

Fight until forced to...

Unidentifiable Jaws

It didn't take long for Captain Tuli Elmer to realize that her team had stumbled across something big. It was a huge discovery, and quite frankly it was a very large thing. The metal structure looked almost like a UFO, although at the moment it was more of a UO. The technology was far beyond what Captain Elmer had ever seen before on Earth- and beyond.

Instructing her team to begin explorati...
