you’ve come back

but i no longer need you

i will not allow my back to my stabbed

using shards of glass

collected from your fragile heart

and your fragile masculinity

i will no longer accept that pain

thoughts dripping away

like steady rain

leaving droplets to fall

slowly down car windows

woven so deeply into my soul

a person may no longer know me

may no longer understand me

my thoughts

my story

without at least hearing about you...

for the way you speak

senteniously

i don’t often need to ask for a word’s definition

you tell me you adore my brain

the way my words flow like water

“so smart, so well spoken” you tell me

i wish i’d received this

this form of love

i wish it had come sooner

i wish i hadn’t spent years

needing to elucidate

what i was attempting to con...
