Why am I writing this poem

Why can’t we get it right

We both know we hate to fight.

Where there is a light ,there is always a shadow close behind.

Envying the light and wishing it was first in line.

Jealous of how it exposes darkness every time.

Aware that it’s existence only is to mimic a shine....

Another day at it again

I’m in the trenches

I gotta get it for my bitch and my kids

Anyway, I can

Can’t get decent job to pay rent

Can’t get hired for shit

But that ain’t never stopped the rent

So i’m a stick up kid

Daily put my life at risk

But it comes with it...

A tiny hand, so small and bright,

Made something special, with all her might.

A handmade treasure, with love so true,

A creation born, from me and you.

With glue and scissors, and colors bold,

She crafted something, to behold.

A handmade gift, from her heart so free,

A symbol of love, for you and me.

In the comfort of home, where love resides,
